We are (still) waiting for word on if we got our short sale house or not. I'm hopeful. The bank counter-offered and we then counter-offered them somewhere in the middle. That and a very friendly letter penned by yours truly are all we have going for us. I will be pretty sad if we don't get the house. And I know all about "it wasn't the right one" or "God has something better for you", but in this moment, without hindsight, I can say quite definitely that I will be sad, before Hope once again breaks like the sunrise in the morning. (Can you see it?)
You know what else has me feeling sad right now? Fruit flies. Fruit-freakin-flies. Like all over my kitchen, buzzing around all stealth while eating at the table, swimming in my drink. You might think that since I am the one with the biggest brain between us I could figure out how to get rid of these things, but to that count the fly is beating me badly. I did a top down clean of my kitchen this morning, bleached the drain, cleaned out the fruit bowl, am trying to catch them with a mixture of dish soap and apple cider vinegar...and while I have proudly killed about 15...they seem to multiple as fast as I can get to them.
Brixton started school last week and I'm all YEAH!!!! about it. He brought home his first craft yesterday and I'm pretty sure we have an art genius over here. (Even though I'm convinced his teacher did 99% of the work). I sold his highchair on Craigslist over the weekend, a feat that made me shed tears. Lots of tears. I remember buying that chair and putting him in it 2 years ago--he was so small--I was cracking up. Even the $100 cash money didn't make the tears stop.
This post was just interrupted by a squirrel crying outside. I thought it was hurt or lost so I went to investigate and can I tell you I had a quick flash of hope that I would have to nurse the squirrel back to health and then we would do this:
It turned out to be fine. (sigh)
This has nothing to do with anything. I just thought it was cute. I SOOO hope I can jam that hat on his head again this winter.
And finally, I leave you with this:
